Building Capacity for Heritage Preservation in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara
Led by the Institut national du patrimoine with the Art and Culture Development Foundation, this project will train 130-150 Uzbek professionals—half of them women—in key heritage skills. Through six practical training sessions in cities like Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara, participants will gain expertise in collection inventories, preventive conservation, storage conditions, and the restoration of materials like murals, ceramics, and textiles. The program strengthens local capacities in both museum management and built heritage preservation.
