Creating a Database for the Preservation of Sudan's Archaeological Archives and Collections
Sudan
Dr. Shadia Abdrabo, Senior Curator at the National Museum of Khartoum, was forced to flee Sudan due to the ongoing conflict. Hosted by the INHA in Paris, she continued her work remotely on safeguarding Sudan’s cultural heritage. The project enabled the development of a centralized digital platform to organize and preserve archaeological archives, photographs, and reports. By strengthening documentation and sharing data with international organizations such as Interpol, ICOM, and the World Customs Organization, it also contributes to efforts to combat illicit trafficking and recover looted artefacts.
