Digitizing Ethnographic and Archaeological Collections in the Gaza Strip
Gaza, Palestine
This project safeguarded ethnographic and archaeological collections in Gaza by evacuating artifacts from at-risk collections to a secure location. Building on earlier ALIPH-supported interventions in Al Qarara and Rafah Museums, the initiative responded to urgent needs following widespread damage from conflict. Led by the Palestinian Museum in partnership with the Mayasem Association, the project ensured the documentation, protection, and consolidation of vulnerable objects. The rescued collections were also digitized and integrated into the Museum’s database, preserving a permanent record and supporting their long-term safeguarding.
