Emergency Protection and Stabilization of the Al Pasha Palace
Palestine
The 13th-century Al Pasha Palace, a major historic landmark in Gaza’s Old City, suffered severe damage. Once home to collections spanning Canaanite to Byzantine periods, the site risked further losses. This project implemented emergency measures to stabilize the remaining structure and recover heritage materials. Activities included debris removal, salvage and documentation of artefacts, and the identification of architectural elements for future restoration. Remaining structures have also been assessed and reinforced to prevent further deterioration.
