This project protected eight endangered heritage monuments in the districts of Khulna, Jashore, and Satkhira in southern Bangladesh. These sites—including Hindu temples, Sufi mosques, and mausoleum complexes—hold significant religious and cultural value but are increasingly threatened by climate change and episodes of political unrest. Frequent flooding and storm surges, particularly in riverine areas, pose serious risks to their stability. The project carried out a comprehensive damage and risk assessment to better understand vulnerabilities and inform future protection measures.
