Preserving the Ruins of the Dandanakan Congregational Mosque

One of Central Asia’s oldest mosques, the Dandanakan congregational mosque faces growing threats from desertification. This project will document and protect the site using advanced digital tools like 3D scanning and GIS while training 25 young professionals from Ancient Merv and the State Academy of Arts in on-site conservation. Protective measures, including installing sand barrier, will be taken, and community activities will engage youth and local businesses in safeguarding this historical landmark.
