Rehabilitating the Khan Al Wazir

The Khan Al Wazir is located in the Old City of Aleppo, a 17th-century caravanserai beside the Great Umayyad Mosque of Aleppo and adjacent to Khan Al Saboun, all within the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Severely damaged during the conflict, particularly in its northern and eastern wings, the Khan requires urgent structural rehabilitation to enable its reuse by local communities. The project combines hands-on training for Syrian engineers, architects, and artisans with the reintegration of traditional craftsmanship, ensuring long-term skills transfer.
