Renovating the Ethnographic Museum of Nzérékoré
Guinea
Founded in 1995, the Ethnographic Museum of Nzérékoré preserves the rich cultural heritage of the Guinea Forestière region. The museum was severely damaged during past conflicts. Its condition further deteriorated due to the impacts of climate change, particularly the excessive humidity. The project will stabilize the museum building and its collections. Activities also include training for local artisans and cultural staff. The project will engage communities through workshops, open days, and youth training in conservation and conflict prevention, helping to safeguard heritage for future generations.
