Restoring Pirafat Temple and cemetery

In 2025, the reconstruction of the Pirafat Temple and cemetery in Sinjar was completed. Led by Nadia’s Initiative in partnership with Yazidi communities, the project restored a site of deep religious and cultural significance destroyed during the conflict. The complex has now resumed its role as a place of worship, remembrance, and burial, including for victims of the Yazidi genocide. Beyond reconstruction, the project supports community recovery and the preservation of Yazidi heritage.
