Restoring Romanov Treasures
Tashkent
The project will restore two rare artworks from the collection of the Grand Duke Nicholas Konstantinovich Romanov, exiled to Tashkent in the 19th century. The pieces include The Crucifixion of the Apostle Andrew by Gerrit van Honthorst and a gilded frame attributed to the Florentine workshop of Justus Sustermans. A team of Uzbek and international experts will stabilize and prepare the works for display at the upcoming Romanov Palace Museum, blending technical conservation with skill-sharing.
