Restoring the Western Mebon Temple, Angkor
Angkor, Cambodia
Dating to the 11th century, the Western Mebon temple stands on an artificial island in the middle of Angkor’s largest reservoir—a remarkable testament to Khmer engineering and architectural genius. Today, this unique temple is undergoing a major restoration. Faced with a shortage of specialized stone-carving artisans, ALIPH is supporting les Artisans d’Angkor to strengthen traditional skills to help protect this exceptional heritage site.
