Restoring the Zayaa Mosque-Shrine
Wulugu
This project will restore the Zayaa Mosque-Shrine, a rare four-story earthen structure of great cultural and spiritual significance. Threatened by structural damage, climate impacts, and past repairs, the shrine faces risk of collapse. Restoration will use traditional techniques to stabilize walls, rebuild damaged elements, and improve resilience, with works carried out by local artisans and youth under the guidance of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board.
