Second Phase of Stabilization and Recovery Works at the Pasha Palace and Great Omari Mosque (Western Section)
Gaza, Palestine
The southern building of the Pasha Palace and the western section of the Great Omari Mosque remain at high risk following extensive damage. Despite unsafe conditions, both sites are still in use—as a shelter and a place of worship—making urgent intervention essential. Building on earlier debris clearance and initial stabilization works, this project is carrying out targeted consolidation, preventive conservation, and selective reconstruction. Works focus on stabilizing weakened structures, preserving original materials, and ensuring safe conditions during recovery operations. A dedicated training program has been designed to equip local professionals with the skills and safety protocols needed to work in high-risk environments.
