Strengthening Crafts and Entrepreneurial Skills for Returnee Communities
Chui region and Kara-Balta city
In the Chui region and Kara-Balta city of Kyrgyzstan, there are large communities of returnees from Tajikistan and the Pamirs, who initially left Kyrgyzstan because of conflict or seeking better economic opportunities. This project will support this displaced community by providing training in business, kurak craft techniques, and social media marketing. Through these sessions, participants will gain the tools to build heritage-based livelihoods. Materials and equipment will able be provided to help launch or grow micro-enterprises, combining cultural preservation with economic opportunity.
