This project will protect two at-risk Swahili buildings—the Bamnara Mosque in Stone Town and Soiniani Villa in Mutsamudu—from the impacts of climate change. After initial stabilization and documentation, works will focus on adapting the structures to coastal challenges such as rising humidity and salinity. The project also includes community engagement and training for local craftspeople, strengthening awareness and skills while fostering regional cooperation through the INTO network.
