The historical Sursock Street, located at the heart of Beirut’s Achrafieh district, is home to 18th and 19th century mansions that belonged to some of Lebanon’s most prominent families. One of these houses, the Villa Mokbel, endured severe damage to its structure and gardens in the 4 August 2020 explosion. This project carried out urgent stabilization works for the damaged roof, provided temporary closure of windows, and removed debris. These works prevented further damage to the villa before the full-scale conservation could be carried out.
