Protecting heritage to build peace

Brussels, 4 September 2025 – Today in Brussels, Ukraine took a major step to safeguard its war-damaged cultural heritage. HE Tetiana Berezhna, acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, and Valéry Freland, Executive Director of the International alliance for the protection of heritage (ALIPH), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund (UCHF).
